|
A 10m prototype interferometer is currently under construction at the AEI in Hannover, Germany. The core experiment in this new experimental facility aims to reach and eventually surpass the SQL for a measurement with 100g mirrors. Among the most crucial ingredients are a well stabilised high-power laser system, the use of Khalili cavities to minimise coating thermal noise, passive isolation tables equipped with a suspension platform interferometer, and all-silica monolithic mirror suspensions. In this talk I will give an overview of the design and science goals for the AEI 10m prototype interferometer with special emphasis on the isolation and suspension systems. |
